Unwrap-up of Becoming Burlesque Cycle 20

Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society was proud to present the grads of Becoming Burlesque. A 2 month workshop where we take the girl next door and make them a whole lot more. This may have been their debut show but they showed us they were no virgins to the stage.

Hosted by our beloved Becoming Burlesque teachers Melody Mangler and April O’Peel who were getting a little turned hot and bothered themselves.

The night begins with wild child Magnolia Wilde who discovers the enjoyment of elegance.

Cherry Bottom is one fierce feline with some stems that goes on forever! Meow!

Classy lady Dee Dee Debauchery couldn’t contain her inner fox.

Jill T Pleasure shares the joys in playing with herself... OK well maybe it’s more like dancing with herself... Well in our world dancing is the same as playing.

Mitzy Boing Boing gave us all a sneaky peak of what goes down in her home once the lights go off. A little dancing in the dark? Yes please :)

Clare Voyeur shows us the cheeky side of house keeping and (pun alert!) she really takes the cake. ;-)

So maybe there was one virgin on stage and holy mother did Miss Doodles ever make us all come to our knees.

After a long night of glamour Ani-Mae Twist slips into something a little more comfortable.

Sweet school girl Reese Kay had a little time to kill waiting for dream boy to call. Lucky for us he had kept her waiting!

Sophistication and Jo Jo Dubois are no strangers, so you better be a big spender to spend some time with her.

Hate to be the groom that Lily Lovepie left in the dust. Lucky for us she choose to take that wedding dress off in front of all of us.

It is a tradition in all our Becoming Burlesque Shows that we showcase a Screaming Chicken’s signature boylesque routine. Gentleman caller Duncan Teabags and darling damsel Evil Bastard tell us a love story and maybe share a little too much detail....

These ladies have worked so hard on dazzling the crowd they had to come back on stage for one final number, choreographed by Screaming Chicken’s fabulous trio Melody Mangler, April O’Peel and Violet Femme.

Congratulations to our grads for a phenomenal show!

A big thank you goes out to Ian West of WeDo Photography who took all the photos featured in this post.

Becoming Burlesque Cycle 21 is still accepting students beginning January 31st. You can get more information about registering here.

For more Screaming Chicken shinanigans come to the Taboo Revue Variety Burlesque Show Christmas Special on Friday, December 9th at the WISE Hall.

Until next time my dears!

Taboo in Review - OOoooOooOooOooo SpoOooOooooky

In case you didn’t already know, Halloween is burlesque Christmas! Where us weirdos can stock up on the essential items to live off of for the rest of the year. So its no surprise that Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society shared the stage with familiar faces and some very special guests at the WISE Hall, Friday Oct 28, for the Taboo Revue Spooktacular!!!

To show off our fantastic showcase of acts we naturally needed THREE exceptionally entertaining individuals to host our packed house! The quick wits of Steve Stevedore, Evil Bastard and Violet Femme made our audience feel at home.

I’m going to be very upfront by admitting now that arranging these pictures were no easy task. The numbers in this show ranged from so many different styles that my OCD was getting the best of me. The results you see below is the Taboo Revue show divided by the Halloweeny/spooky/weirdo numbers and the very sexy... very sexy numbers (**Note to me, read a Thesaurus!)

The night starts in a graveyard where Aida Manic bravely wanders to encounter all sorts of creatures of the night who appears to put newcomers through a very intensive hazing session!

Our photographers caught some fantastic moments that just screamed to be shared! (Get it? Screamed? Like Screaming Chicken... or screaming cuz its a halloween show... I should stop now... )

I’m really digging this women in command of man/beast theme happening here:

The bodacious Star Buxom takes it off to raise the dead. Her voodoo dance and dark magic left Frankie Panky helpless to her commands! She definitely wears the pants between the two of them in this one and she’s not even wearing pants!

RELEASE THE KRAKEN! April O’Peel’s love of squid and octopi (octopusses sounds better but apparently its not a real word!) is really shared with the world in this number. When asking her why she likes these sea creatures she articulately responds with, “No one would fuck with a squid” So true, so very very true!

Calamity Kate is a BABE!!! She’s so hot sparks come out of her boobs and her neather-regions. Try and touch her! Try! Just be careful cuz you might get burned! (Ohhhh awesome cliche!) All jokes aside, I wouldn’t mess with her for the sole fact she willingly takes a grinder to her body like that and can make it look erotic!

While the Voodoo Mama is away the corpse will play or something along those lines. Franky Panky proves that he still got it in the after life. Providing its ok with Star Buxom of course!

Violet Femme was unfortunately attacked by what we all thought was a hobo during the show but something tells me that this was something much more serious. It's a good thing she can adapt to any role, alive or dead!

The always classy and glittery Sparkle Pussies showed the crowd how being dirty is always more fun ;)

Up and coming boylesque superstar and guitar hero Blue Morris represented for the fellows. He prove that playing the guitar is so easy you can even strip and look sexy while doing it! The multiple climaxes in his dynamic number were very much appreciated and panty-throwing-on-the-stage worth!

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK DEBBI NELSON ON BEHALF OF THE FEMALE COMMUNITY FOR TAKING THIS PHOTO!!

Vancouver’s ambassador of spandex Spandy attempts to fill the King of Pop’s shoes when he headlines our take on an all time classic, “Thriller”.

This high action number required much more than a photo montage to summarize what the audience witnessed that night. If you don’t know who Spandy Andy just take a moment and check out his awesome website. He's all about spreading positivity, he really is a ray of sunshine on our rainy city! We love you Spandy!

That’s it that’s all. That was our show ladies and gentlemen! Thank you to everyone who came out and choose to have Screaming Chicken to be part of your Halloween weekend. Thank you to all the volunteers who make it possible for us to staff our show! Thank you talented photographers who capture our shows on camera so that I can make this blog post possible so I may never have to worry about expanding my vocabulary on adjectives!
